Welding Services for Your Tank Heads, Rolled Cylinders, & Cones
Baker Tankhead provides high-quality industrial welding services for pressure vessel components, tank heads, cones, and rolled cylinders. Our experienced welders, qualified procedures, and in-house quality inspections help ensure every component meets demanding industry and code requirements.

Our Welding Capabilities
Our welding department supports a wide range of fabrication and pressure vessel applications across industries including oil & gas, cryogenics, storage tanks, HVAC, food processing, and industrial manufacturing. All welds are ASME code-compliant. Baker Tankhead supports fabrication projects requiring various levels of ASME radiographic examination, including RT-1 full radiography and RT-2 spot radiography requirements depending on customer specifications and code design criteria.

Our capabilities include:

- Gas Tuncsten Arc Welding (Tip Tig)
- Gas Metal Arc Welding
- Flux Core Arc Welding
- Submerged Arc Welding
- Shielded Metal Arc Welding (Stick)

Non-Destructive Examination (NDE)
To verify weld quality without damaging the component, we offer multiple forms of non-destructive examination (NDE) for weld seams and fabricated assemblies.

-
Visual Testing (VT): A direct visual inspection of the weld or magnification to check for visible issues such as cracks, undercut, poor fit-up, or weld appearance.
-
Penetrant Testing (PT): A colored or fluorescent liquid is applied to the weld surface to reveal surface cracks or defects that are open to the surface.
-
Radiographic Testing (RT): Uses X-rays or gamma rays to see inside a weld and detect internal defects like cracks or lack of fusion.
-
Magnetic Partical Testing (MT): Uses magnetic fields to detect surface and near-surface cracks or defects in carbon steel welds. This test can be done wet or dry.
